Spike Redman Halloween Hunt

The Spike - Redman Halloween Hunt was kindly supported by the Star Trust and Brighton Rotary Group.

WHGC Junior Member Spike wanted to create a competition that would encourage juniors that had never played golf before.  Spike and Sam Liddle (The Junior Organiser at West Hove) put their heads together and created a Halloween Hunt for children. With some riddles and rhymes that helped the juniors find the hidden tricks and treats around  9 holes of the  golf course.

A great day was had by all and we were blessed with good weather!  A big thank you to Ryan Fenwick Golf Academy who very kindly supplied some golf clubs, bags, buggy and trollies where needed.

The winning family rocked up to the first tee, the children not having played golf before, and after a few air shots got off to a great start!!!

To help in the event Star Trust kindly supplied a couple of actors who were dressed in Halloween attire, they were strategically positioned around the course and gave one or two players quite a fright.

WHGC Member Bill Heron from Brighton Rotary Group very kindly donated £250.00 to the event.

With over 40 attending it was a great atmosphere.

David Gillies the West Hove Captain kindly presented the prizes to the winners.

Thanks for everyone involved in the event – amazing commitment and a superb outcome.
