West Hove win the BDGS Junior Cup
The morning draw saw West Hove play East Brighton and the Dyke play Brighton and Hove. The scores were 3-2 to West Hove and 4-1 to the Dyke.
West Hove’s victory in the semi-final was secured by Jim Goodrum and Mick Mayhew winning the final match on the 18th by two up to back up earlier wins for Jim Hutton and Mick Goodale and David Bidwell and Daryl Kilner.

The final saw a very fluctuating match.
West Hove won two matches convincingly with David Bidwell and Daryl Kilner again winning their match this time by 7 & 5 and the Club Captain David Gillies and recent past Captain Martin Emery winning their match 7 & 6.
The remaining three matches saw Jim Hutton and Mick Goodale come back from 4 down to narrowly lose on the 18th, Jim Goodrum and Mick Mayhew narrowly lose on the 18th before David Menzies and Mark Evans 3 down on the 14th won their match on the 18th to win the Junior Cup for West Hove.
A great victory and every player contributed a point over the day. A terrific team effort.
The win puts West Hove level with the Dyke in the Victor Ludorum after two rounds. There is all to play for.
Next Up is the Intermediate Cup at the Dyke on Sunday 12th May under Mike Whitty’s captaincy
