George Goddard becomes the 2019 West Hove Club Champion!
The Club Championship took place over the weekend of the 20th & 21st July, the event is played over 36 holes ( 18 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday ) with scratch and net elements. A great turn out saw 90 members compete and a new champion was crowned, George Goddard. As many of you know, George is the current Sussex Amateur Champion and has a handicap of +2, the weather was very warm and breezy, the course was firm and fiery which made for testing conditions, rounds of 73 & 70 for a +3 par total of 143 secured the win. The Nick O'Byrne Trophy, which is presented for the weekends best 36 hole net score which went to Ashley Chamberlain with net rounds of 71 & 69 for a total of 140, congratulations and well done to George & Ashley.

2nd – Gary Salt 151 ( 75 & 76)* on C/B
3rd – Sam Cains 151 (71 & 80)

2nd – Luke Giles 143 (75 & 68 )
3rd – Kevin Woolley 143 (72 & 71)
Thanks recorded to: Howard Coulson and Match & Handicap for running the event so professionally, all the volunteers who helped in the build up to and during the event, the Captain for his support and commitment over the weekend and the planning stages, the staff for keeping everyone fed and watered and in good spirits, the members for supporting the event and taking part in this wonderful occasion and to the Green keepers for preparing and presenting the course in such good condition despite the heavy rain only a few hours before the start!
